Kansas City Here We Come


So I thought starting a blog would be good for me because then instead of writing in a journal, I could just blog about stuff. But it turns out im about as good as blogging as I am at writing in my journal.. Oh well, maybe I will get better at it this summer when i have a little more time on my hands!! The last few months have been great, I've had great opportunities with work to move up in the short time I have been here. Right now I am filling in at the front desk while they are doing the interviewing process! I am still able to do my HR work down here but its just more of a fun atmosphere and I get to work all day with my good friend Krisia!! Who i was working on the project with earlier in the year! As great as it has been I did have to put in my two weeks notice today!! Its bitter sweet, I will miss all the friends I was able to make here but I am looking forward to another summer adventure with Carson!! Last summer was the absolute funnest summer!! And I have a feeling this summer is going to be even better!! This summer I will get to work as the office assistant so I will have something to keep me busy while Carson is slaving away in the hot sun! He is such a hard worker and I love that Carson makes goals and he does everything possible to keep them!! I think thats why we have been able to have such a fun and succesful marriage is because even though we are still in the beginning stages of life we both know what it takes to be happy and we both work at it everyday!! And Carson does such a good job, I dont give him enough credit but he is amazing! The other day he brought flowers to me at work even did the laundry which is one of the hardest things for Carson to do for some reason haha! And not only that but when all of my neices were in town he baked a cake with them and it had my name written on it with M&Ms and they all made party hats and threw me a surprise party when I got home from work!! hahaha only someone as awesome as my husband would ever think to do something like that! It's safe to say that I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have found someone who can deal with all of me and do it with a smile on his face! He laughs at me when I am mad at little things and he keeps me sane. Its crazy that we can be so different in so many ways but at the same time work so well together and make each other so happy. All I have to say is the big Man upstairs knows whats going on and I couldn't be more grateful!

The other night I was putting Auri to bed, and I was tired and a little down with all the stuff life throws at ya. And I was just thinking about if I didn't have Auri it would be so much easier to just be lazy and give up. In that moment I really realized how she makes me want to be a better person. I don't want to let her down because her future depends on me. She is such an example of joy and beauty and I can't help but try to be like her. Even in this scary unknown world, she can put that all aside and find joy in the small and simple things, like the pretty pattern on her burp cloth. She amazes me every single day with how much she learns and grows! I am so lucky to be her mama and I hope someday I can return the favor and be a good example to her!

Sleepless Nights

Auri had her 2 month shots this week and she handled it like a champ! She cried for a few minutes and was fine from then on. She was a little fussy for a couple days because she had a fever and I'm sure her little legs were sore! But I think she was also going through a growth spurt at the time because she was waking up early from all her naps hungry and waking up multiple times at night! Last night was by far the worst. I think I slept for a total of 3 hours and that was broken up over maybe 4 or 5 segments! She had a tummy ache from some spicy food I had for dinner.. We both learned our lesson... No more spicy food! But there is good news too! Carson started his internship and will hopefully be done by march and then he will finally graduate!! Also Carson won an award at vivint for having the top first year office in his region! Stories I Can’t Forget

This summer, in Indiana, I read this picture book of the Book of Mormon to Auri and Brylee. We finished the book and I had a prompting to say a prayer with my girls and ask if what we had read was true. They answered yes, so I told them that we would pray and ask and then after we would be really quiet so we could listen for the spirit. That was all I said. I said the prayer and asked if what we had read was true. Then we sat there. Brylee was only 3 and was able to sit still for only a minute but after a little bit longer, Auri turned to me and said mom I have this really warm feeling right here (she was touching her chest). I never told her how an answer might come, but this was a testimony to me that the spirit is very real and you don’t have to be a certain age to feel it. I was able to explain to her that the Holy Ghost was answering by that warm feeling she was feeling.
